A Cross Country Skier's Paradise in Winona Forest

Seventy (yes, 70) miles of groomed trails await you in Winona Forest! Fifteen miles of these trails are skier-only trails, groomed for both traditional and skating styles, accommodating a full range of Nordic Skier abilities from novice to expert. The other 55 miles are multi-use trails also groomed for skiers, but respecfully shared by other winter sports enthusiasts like snowmobilers and mushers. WFRA hosts the annual Classical Winona Forest Tourathon X-C Ski Events in February for all ages and abilities. The Winona Forest Try-It X-C Races, are now part of our Winter Fun Festival. Winona Forest is truly a winter paradise with many events sponsored by WFRA .

Announcement!!

The annual TryIt and Tourathon dates have been set and we are excited to be hosting 2 very new and improved XC Ski races for your enjoyment and participation!!

The old Tug Hill Ski Club and the old Tug Hill Tourathon are gone!

The NEW Winona Forest Recreation Association and the NEW Winona Forest Tourathon have taken their place!!!

The TryIt and the WFT (Winona Forest Tourathon) will be presented with many improvements such as improved course grooming, state of the art electronic timing and results by "Score-This", led by qualified and competent leaders, personnel and volunteers and sanctioned by NYSSRA Nordic!

The TryIt will be held January 17, 2009 in conjunction with

WFRA's 2nd Annual Winterfest!

Be sure to SAVE THE DATE! Plan to spend the weekend!

Enjoy family activities such as snow sculpting exhibit & children's workshop, skijoring lessons, dogsled rides, snowshoe tours, sleigh rides, ski lessons, snowmobiling, a bonfire and lots of good food!

The new Winona Forest Tourathon will be held on Saturday March 14, 2009

with a new & adventuresome course for all levels of skiers from novice to expert.

Look forward to a super event with electronic timing & results and a challenging triple 15K loop course.

		WFRA is a volunteer organization. Many volunteer hours are donated to make this club possible for skiers,snowmobilers, mushers, ATV's, hunters, campers, walkers, horseback riders and even birdwatchers ! Funding is generated largely by memberships, contributions, fundraisers & state grants.
