34th Annual Winona Forest Tourathon XC Ski Race
Mannsville, NY. February 02, 2014. With the Winter Olympics being held this month in Sochi, many Nordic skiers of all abilities will descend upon Central New York’s winter paradise, The Tug Hill Plateau for the 34th Annual Winona Forest Tourathon. The event will showcase the tradition of classical Nordic skiing- a prominent discipline of the Winter Olympic games. Registration is OPEN for the 34th ANNUAL WINONA FOREST TOURATHON This legendary Classical Style Nordic Ski Race will be held Saturday February 22nd at Winona State Forest, CCC Camp, County Route 90 in Mannsville, NY. Start time is 8:00 AM. Distance: 12.5K, 25K, 37.5K and the Walter Chapman 50K. The event is open to ALL levels of ability. Faster skiers will be seated in front based on anticipated pace. More casual skiers will be seated in the back to start. All are welcome. More than 280 inches of snow has fallen this season and course conditions are sure to be perfected by the new Ginzu Groomer! The Tourathon is a NYSSRA –Nordic Sanctioned Event. Awards for Top 3 Finishers per category. Mannsville Fire Department’s Famous Chicken BBQ will follow the event!
