Dear IditaFAT Bike Race Participants and Volunteers:
WELCOME EVERYONE to the biggest FAT bike race in Central and Northern New York!!! Winona Forest Recreation Association, Tryon Bike and Stickboy Coffee are extremely excited to be hosting the 3rd Annual IditaFAT Bike Race this Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Winona Forest’s CCC Camp on Rt. 90. Directions can be located on the bottom of this e-mail. Please do NOT follow your GPS it will take you down seasonal roads.

Thank you to all of our awesome volunteers who spent many hours getting this event together. This event would NEVER take place without the commitment of so many others both on and off the trails. PLEASE take the time to express your appreciation to them to all of them. 

RACE SCHEDULE
6:30 am – 7:45 am – Packet Pick Up/Race Check In at CCC Camp.
7:50 am – Mandatory Pre Race Briefing for all Riders at the Starting Line 
8:00 am – Start of Race
11:00 ish am - Awards

RULES:
- All participants must wear a helmet at all times
- Please exercise courtesy and respect for one another on the course
- Absolutely no littering
There will be volunteers at 3 points on the course. If you decide to stop riding please inform the volunteers and wait with them. We will come pick you up. If a rider is injured PLEASE pass along this information to the next volunteer station. Volunteers will be at each motor vehicle crossing to monitor any traffic. DO NOT ASSUME cars/snowmobiles will respect the volunteers and stop for you. Exercise caution with each crossing. Please inform other riders behind you vocalizing "CLEAR".
Every effort has been put forth to contain the course to Fat bikes and Fat bikes only. Keep in mind that it is possible that you may encounter an unknowing skier or snowmobile. Snowmobiles are likely to be seen around the start/finish area.
Our timing is basic and rudimentary. With that in mind we strongly encourage you to MAKE YOUR MOVE well before the final finish. We ask that you MAKE ANY PASSES before the small bridge toward the finish. 

TIPS FOR THE DAY OF THE RACE:
- Please confirm that your bike is in safe working order before the race
- Dress properly – winter hats, gloves and warms socks
- Please pay attention to the course markings
- Plan accordingly, there will be no food/hydration stations on the course

FOR THE VOLUNTEERS: 
-Please arrive by 7:00 am ish. 
-If you are a Course Marshall there will be a meeting for you at 7:30 am.  
-Volunteers must carry a photo ID with them at all times during their assignment.
-Volunteers should dress warm for the weather. Please wear comfortable shoes.
-Volunteers are required to obey the “No Smoking” and “No Alcohol” policy for the duration of their assignment.
-Be prepared and flexible. 
-And most importantly have FUN

PARKING AND DIRECTIONS:
Please be sure to follow the “Winona Race” signs. 
To CCC Camp Parking Area P-4
To CCC Camp: Take the Mannsville Exit #39 off I-81. Follow County Rt. 90 East through the village of Mannsville crossing Rt 11. It’s about 1 mile to the stop sign.
Continue East, carefully following signs to stay on Rt. 90 East. About 3 miles you will turn Right continuing to follow Rt.90. Stay on the paved road.
About ½ up the road you will come to a bend. Stay Left continuing to follow Rt. 90 East
About 2 miles up you take a Right continuing to follow Rt. 90 East. Stay on the paved road. 
About 1 ½ miles up the road you will find CCC Camp and the parking lot which will be on your left hand side.
