_Please note that all ATV trails are closed for the winter season.
ATV trails are open April 1 - October 15 only.


County and Town trails / roads that are open for ATV use in the Winona Forest area are as follows:

  • Wart Rd
  • Brown Rd in town of Lorraine, off Cty Rte 90,
  • Hessel Rd from Wart to Brown Rd Ext
  • Brown Rd extension from Hessel Rd to Cty Rte 90
  • Two loops on county reforestation property off Brown Rd Extension to Cty rte 90,
  • Kate Hall Rd from Dixon Rd parking area to Brown Rd,
  • Marsh Rd in town of Lorraine,
  • Bishop Rd in town of Lorraine, from Brown Rd to Gold Spike only
  • Sharp Rd in town of Lorraine,
  • Gold Spike north  from bridge on Cty Rte 90 into town of Lorraine system.
NOTE: Hawley, Tucker, Bargey and the lower section of Hessel to Brown Rd Ext. remain closed to ATV traffic

Important ATV Information

  • Remember machines must be registered, insured and helmets worn.
  • All side by sides must be legally registered as an ATV.
  • Speed limit is 25 mph.
  • Ride with care and ride legal trail system only!
  • Be aware of regulations for riding during hunting season.
  • No riding on the trail system once the trails have been groomed for winter activities.
  • Be courteous to others. Let's not destroy what we have worked so hard to accomplish.
  • The image we set forth & the public sees is what makes or breaks our efforts to have a legal usable ATV trail system.
  • Be responsible and look to better the public view of the ATV community.
  • Above all, ride safely! Enjoy the privilege we have earned to have and ride a great trail system.
